Anna Wheeler Nutrition Limited is a Nutrition Consultancy offering services to the food industry, PR agencies and beyond. Whatever your nutrition needs, be they developing a communications strategy, helping you bring a product to market, making sure your claims are compliant, building trust with stakeholders or helping you bring a tv advert to the public, I can help. You can see what colleagues have to say about working with me here.
As a Nutritionist registered with the Association for Nutrition, I pride myself on my evidence-based, common sense and practical approach. My philosophy on food and nutrition is simple. All foods can be enjoyed as part of a healthy diet, and yes I mean ‘all’ foods (including chocolate, my personal favourite!). Of course moderation is key but so is enjoyment. Food is such a pleasure and such an important part of our culture and how we socialise, and that’s just the way it should be.
To use a marketing term, it’s so important to get the ‘brilliant basics’ right and the rest will fall into place. If you base your diet around plenty of fruit and veg, carbohydrates (yes wholemeal is better but sometimes only a fresh white loaf will do!), lean and plant-based protein foods and healthy fats, you’ll be onto a winner. And of course, let’s not forget the vital role of physical activity and avoiding sedentary behaviour. Let’s face it, eating well isn’t rocket science, and anyone who tells you otherwise is probably trying to sell you something.
I am passionate about busting the numerous nutrition myths out there and helping people navigate the nutribabble and confusing messages in the media. I favour a positive approach, thinking about all the wonderful foods we can eat more of, rather than cutting out ingredients, foods or worse still, whole food groups. There will be no insistence on chia seeds and turmeric lattes here, just a sensible, common sense point of view.
